Optimization is designed for Operators to add voyage-specific parameters, such as timing or fuel constraints, as well as updated market factors. Please use this feature at the start of every voyage (or when updates are required) to ensure a vessel's information is up to date.

Market Factors

Before sailing your first voyage with Wayfinder, shoreside will need to input the Market factors (time and fuel cost) for each vessel. Located in the “Optimization” Tab, market factors must be input for each vessel optimized with Wayfinder.

Standard and ECA fuel cost and opportunity cost will remain from one voyage to the next if there are no changes made. Note: Only Operator accounts can view Market Factors; these are not visible for Captain accounts.

Voyage Constraints

For optimization service voyages, operators can input voyage constraints in the “optimization design tab”. Optional constraints include: Required Time of Arrival, Average Speed, and Daily Max M/E Fuel Consumption

For weather service voyages, operators and captains can input voyage constraints in the “optimization design tab”. Required constraints include: Instructed speed, Instructed daily FO consumption, Instructed daily DO/GO consumption
