Wayfinder will send Inmarsat-c messages in the following situations.

1. When captain and/or operators have informed Wayfinder:
   1. Onboard V-sat or Starlink not operational
   2. Vessel in a shadow sector for a limited time
   3. Onboard server breakdown
2. When an alternate route option (ie storm avoidance suggestion) is sent outside of the regular 9 am cadence and requires immediate action from the captain
