The Wayfinder routing team is here to support you through enhanced wave conditions, tropical storms, and more. In addition to the weather table, PDF, and 24/7 access to weather in the application, we have additional resources available to support your vessel in heavy weather.
Setting your safety operating limits is a key part of Wayfinder set up as it informs the optimization and safety strategy that we use for each individual vessels. The wave and wind limits provided here are used to understand the risk tolerance and diversion requirements for your vessel.

Weather is available 24/7 in Wayfinder and as need, the Wayfinder routing team will also supply additional weather blurbs, tropical storm advisories, and a detailed weather synopsis in the guidance emails provided each day. These advisories are custom for each vessel and voyage and will be included in emails when weather conditions start to pick up or on request.
When your vessel faces heavy weather, Wayfinder will provide one or more route alternatives for your consideration (based on your safety thresholds). Our routing analyst will review the economics and safety for each route before passing them along to the captain for consideration. The ultimate decision for course and speed lies with the captain and we can provide additional support as needed once a diversion plan has been selected.

In heavy weather scenarios, Wayfinder can increase the cadence of weather emails and provide 4x a day weather updates (every 6 hours). This additional service will be provided only when requested by the vessel or shoreside teams and we will revert to regular, once a day guidance, once the vessel is no longer in the vicinity of the inclement weather.
During this time, you should also refer to the most up to date weather in the Wayfinder application where we will continue to show current weather conditions with an updated forecast every 6 hours.
