Each day, Wayfinder delivers routing guidance at 9 am local vessel time. After guidance is delivered and reviewed, vessel teams will be responsible for adjusting RPM and waypoints in accordance with the prescribed guidance. Reviewing Daily Guidance

While underway, your vessel will receive daily RPM guidance and when applicable, a change of waypoints may be recommended for your consideration. You can review the recommended route in email and in Wayinder.

Following Daily Guidance

As a Captain, you should following the guidelines below each day:

  1. Receive route guidance emails daily at 09:00 vessel’s local time & review the Wayfinder application

  2. Review the guidance from Wayfinder

    1. RPM guidance - review & set RPMs accordingly
    2. Waypoint guidance - review, accept in Wayfinder (if appropriate) & import to ECDIS

    Adhering to RPM and route guidance provided, when possible, is an important step to sailing the optimal route & realizing the efficiency gains for your vessel.

What to do when you cannot follow daily guidance

RPM Guidance

If you are unable to follow the RPM guidance given by Wayfinder on a given day, please response directly to the guidance email with a reason and description of why the vessel is unable to follow. If possible, we will make adjustments for guidance the following day to consider this new information.
